Forms very solid clumps with short, hard leaves, brown-tipped. The late winter/early spring colour is especially dark. A reliable plant that easily tolerates winter wet. We see this plant widely distributed under different names - Mahogany (various spellings), Helen, Bloody Goose and probably other names as well. In a way, it does show how many people want to grow this excellent cultivar - whatever the name!
